Linda Brown
Linda graduated Cum Laude from Tufts University in 1977, with
a Bachelor of Arts in Child Development and Education. During
that time she spent four months studying in England, observing
and teaching in the British Open School System. Linda moved to
Philadelphia after graduating, and assumed responsibility for
creating and teaching a first/second grade class for a private
school.
In 1978, Linda founded a school for Congregation Beth Yeshua in
Philadelphia, where she and her husband have been active members
for over 25 years. She has worked at Chalutzim Academy since
then, as administrator, guidance counselor, and teacher. Through
the years she has also developed curriculum, supervised
teachers, and tutored individual students. Linda has taught many
subjects, from first grade to High School math. She is certified
in both Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.
Linda began Cornerstone as an out-growth of Chalutzim Academy,
and has been Principal of both schools for five years now.
With her husband, Steve, Linda organized and ran the teen
program at Beth Yeshua, and at the yearly conference of
Messianic Judaism, for about 8 years. Now she is busy with her
own 3 teenage children, as well as running two schools! While it
keeps her very busy, she really loves what she does, and greatly
enjoys all her students!
