Lisa Swieson
Lisa Swieson graduated cum laude from the University of
Pennsylvania with a B.A. in biology, with a concentration in
genetics. She went on to do research at the Pennsylvania College
of Optometry, studying vision loss in older people. After three
years, Lisa left the college to care for her first child, who
recently graduated from Cornerstone.
Lisa and her husband, Dana, now have four children and have been
homeschooling all of them since birth. She has been teaching
music and science classes to homeschooled students since 1998.
Lisa started the Greater Philadelphia Homeschool Science Fair in
1999 and is one of the founders of Science Resources, a
nonprofit organization dedicated to improving K-12 science
education. Although teaching science is Lisa’s passion, she also
enjoys gardening and being a part of her church’s worship team.
We know she will bring challenging, exciting science classes to
our students here at Cornerstone!
