Bible 9-10 Grades
Instructor: James Morse
Text: Bill Gothard, "Basic Life Principles" Seminar
Overview of Course:
The goals of this course are for the students to develop a
closer walk with the Lord, a greater understanding of the
Messianic vision, and a strong daily devotion. We will be
learning how to pray, how to study the scriptures, and how to be
an effective witness for the Lord.
This course will explore the Scripture’s teachings on several
essential aspects of life. Beginning with the well known "Basic
Life Principles" Seminar taught by Bill Gothard, students will
learn and discuss biblical views on seven "non-optional"
principles of life: Design, Authority, Responsibility,
Suffering, Ownership, Freedom and Success. Students will read
biographies of noteworthy believers from the modern era and
deepen their spiritual disciplines of the Quiet Time and
Scripture memory. Additionally students will keep a journal and
lead the class in several presentations - all in an effort to
make it clear that they too, can live successfully in God’s
world. The course will also study the Biblical holidays as they
occur in the calendar and highlight their messianic fulfillment.

our day and the search for truth.
Overview of Course:
The goals of this course are for the students to develop a
closer walk with the Lord, a greater understanding of the
Messianic vision, and a strong daily devotion. We will be
learning how to pray, how to study the scriptures, and how to be
an effective witness for the Lord.
This curriculum addresses one of the most critical spiritual
struggles currently underway: the battle for the hearts and
minds of young people. The proliferation of widely diverse
worldviews in Western culture makes it a priority that young
people develop the "Christian mind." They must be prepared to
think biblically about all areas of life. They must be equipped
"to give a reason for the hope that is in them". (1 Peter 3:15).
This course focuses on four fundamental world views of Western
Civilization: Marxism/Leninism, Secular Humanism, Cosmic
Humanism and Biblical Christianity. It takes seriously the task
of preparing students for survival in a secular environment.
