Hebrew

Instructor: James Morse

Texts: Hebrew: A Language Course, by Behrman House
Israeli Hebrew for Speakers of English, by Duben Books

Overview of Course:

The Hebrew course will be taught at two levels, beginner/intermediate and advanced. The focus will be on building vocabulary and on conversation. The Duben Books curriculum uses modern day slang and colloquialisms, so the students will learn the language as it is spoken in Israel. The students will be challenged to apply their knowledge in written form, as well as in oral presentations. The culture of Israel will also be part of the class experience, culminating in field trips which will give them an opportunity to use what they have learned.
