Drama

Instructor: Stacy Skinner

Overview of Course:

Acting allows for the expression and utilization of our G-d given creativity. Drama is a very powerful communication tool through which minds and hearts can be touched.

This course will seek to teach and explore tools and techniques for the student actor through the use of theater games, exercises, improvisation, and text. The study of acting and drama also provides opportunity to grow in teamwork, memorization skills, public speaking, literary analysis, confidence, poise, vocal production, and risk taking.

We will begin with exercises, games, and improvisation with the intent of moving to text during the second trimester. Working with text we will learn how to research a role, score a script, and explore creative choices. Ultimately, we will work towards a performance of scenes and monologues to share with family and friends.
